This lovely painting is a reminder to all of us of the sacrifices Nellie Bly made to insure that the mentally ill were no longer abused. The hummingbird says hello because she knows that we are all a part of nature, and that we need to stand up for the meek in this world. Nellie Bly is part of my "Powerful Women Icons" series.
